Training & Competence Supervisor

 

London | Hybrid

 

Are you an experienced T&C professional or a seasoned Mortgage Adviser ready to step away from advising and use your experience to develop others?

 

We’re partnering with an established and growing financial services business to recruit a Training and Competence Manager. You’ll play a central role in supporting Adviser performance, strengthening best practice and ensuring consistently high standards across mortgage and protection advice. The opportunity could suit an established T&C professional or an experienced Mortgage Adviser/ Administrator who wants to move away from Advising or Administration, and build a career focused on coaching and developing others.

The Role

 

  • Coach, mentor and supervise Mortgage and Protection Advisers throughout their development
  • Deliver focused training across products, regulation, suitability and advice standards
  • Conduct adviser observations, file reviews, competence assessments and regular one-to-one meetings
  • Monitor progress and maintain clear, accurate Training and Competence records
  • Ensure the T&C framework is followed in line with FCA requirements
  • Identify development needs and create practical action plans to improve adviser performance
  • Work closely with Compliance and Quality Assurance teams to maintain strong customer outcomes

 

What we’re looking for?

 

  • CeMAP or an equivalent mortgage qualification (Essential).
  • Experience supervising, coaching or developing advisers within a regulated mortgage or protection environment; alternatively, at least three years’ mortgage advisory experience with a genuine desire to move into T&C.
  • A strong understanding of FCA Training and Competence requirements, MCOB, ICOBS and Consumer Duty.
  • Confidence conducting observations, file reviews and adviser competence assessments.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and regulatory record keeping.
